Project Brief:
In 2010 & 2011 the Department of Health through the Closing the Health Gap Initiative supported the Victorian Aboriginal Child Care Agency to run programs in promoting health issues of concern to children and young people. The resource booklet and DVD are one outcome of these activities. It demonstrates that children and young people are concerned about health and wellbeing and if engaged in an empowering way will take on these issues from their perspective. By starting early we can show our children and young people that they can take control of their lives and break the cycle of disadvantage that affects so many Aboriginal families and children.
