“Secrets of the River” reveals symbolic messages from Dhungala by internationally renown artist Treahna Hamm. The exhibition includes art which hold multi-layers of stories told through Yorta Yorta experiences of living by the Murray River.

In 2012 Hamm celebrates 30 years as a practising artist. During this time her work has been exhibited worldwide including New York, South Korea, Hawaii, New Zealand, Paris, Belgium, Germany and the United States.

The exhibition perpetuates an ongoing relationship with land and art, a bond, which is strong & gauges the themes of identity, connection and belonging to country. The artwork will include weavings, sculpture, prints, paintings and photography, a collection of homeland objects important to the artist’s conveyance of the message “caring for country and the country cares for you”.

Sista Girl Productions acknowledges the traditional custodians of the land on which we work, live and create – the Wurundjeri people and Elders past and present of the Kulin nations.
